A Laminated Cherry, Walnut, and Oak Turned Lamp of Your Own Design

Turn! Turn! Turn! and Light UP MY... Thrill to thirty-two lab hours of extensive lathe techniques. The trainer will assist you in developing a design. This is intensive and extensive lathe tool training on spindle o spindle turning. The knowledge gained here will aid you in many additional hours of fun on your own lathe. What! You have no lathe, well this experience will make you wish you had your own lathe once the course is over.

The following are specific woodworking technologies presented.

Experience large spindle to spindle turning
Learn how each lathe tool can be sharpened
Appreciate different forms of tool cutting
Gain knowledge about laminating different species of wood
Identify the best adhesives for different types of applications
Acquire knowledge about deep and long horizontal boring
Master wiring a lamp

Class for AGES 14 and UP or School's Permission

A certificate is awarded upon class completion

Prerequisites:

SPI-600, 604 or with consent of the School.

NO materials or tools needed.

The class takes thirty-two hours in eight hour blocks of time over a four-day period. Days and times may be altered depending on the circumstances.

FEES:
Tuition $1300.00 + Laboratory $375.00 + Materials (solid oak) $150.00 = $1,825.00 and you keep the project.
