Building a 30" Tall Santa’s Reindeer

 

Exiting Pastime and Achieve New Proficiencies! Pleasing sixteen lab hours of woodworking. Savor the potential holiday excitement while developing curved parts to produce this project under the guidance of a trainer. The class will give you hands on contour cutting and freehand shaping/sanding. Become familiar with all types of abrasive types and equipment.

 

The following are specific woodworking technologies presented.

  • Drawing from a pattern
  • Building jigs and fixtures for holdowns
  • Learning bandsaw resaw techniques
  • Cutting reliefs safely on the bandsaw
  • Guarding for pinch points
  • Maximizing joinery strength with dowels
  • Sanding and shaping with a belt sander
  • Finishing to achieve the heirloom look

 

Class for AGES 12 and UP or School's Permission

Class # SPI-605

A certificate is awarded upon class completion

Prerequisites:

    SPI-600 or with consent of the instructor.
    NO materials or tools needed.

 

The class takes sixteen hours in eight hour blocks of time over a two day period encompassing a Saturday and Sunday. Days and times may be altered depending on the circumstances.

 

FEES:
Tuition $225.00 + Laboratory $100.00 + Materials (Poplar) $25.00 = $350.00 and you keep the project.
