Fabricating a Pigeon Hole Unit for the Roll Top Desk (SPI-610)

 

Delightful Diversion and Build on Earlier Acquired Expertise! Great sixty lab hours of woodworking. Cherish the potential excitement while creating a slide in pigeon hole unit for your Roll Top desk. The class will expose you to a variety of methods for insuring measurement and angle accuracy.

 

The following are specific woodworking technologies presented.

  • Planning for duplication
  • Mass producing identical parts
  • Selecting joinery dependent upon design characteristics
  • Making different types of joinery with a router
  • Learning to identify and take into consideration joint expansion and contraction
  • Identifying sub-assembly sequence
  • Determining squareness of assemblies prior to gluing
  • Gluing and clamping sub-assemblies into a large assembly

 

Class for AGES 16 and UP or with consent of the School

Class # SPI-608

A certificate is awarded upon class completion

Prerequisites:

    SPI-600, 601, 603, 610 or with consent of the instructor.
    NO materials or tools needed.

 

The class takes sixty hours in eight hour blocks of time over a seven & 1/2-day period. Daily hours may be altered depending on the circumstances

 

FEES:
Tuition $765.00 + Laboratory $165.00 + Materials (solid oak) $75.00 = $1005.00 and you keep the project.
