Learn Compound angle Layout and Manufacturing! Create a glider chair that is adaptable for a child or adult. Complicated angles reduced to simple fun. Forty lab hours of woodworking experience. This project will advance you well beyond amateur status. Learn how to simplify complex math. This is a favorite of grandchildren.

 

The following are specific woodworking technologies presented.

  • Interpret working drawings
  • Acquaint yourself with layout of compound angles
  • Learn how to use joinery techniques for smaller pieces of wood
  • Fabricate sections into sub-assembles instead of clamping the entire chair at once
  • Acquire proficiency in laying out holes for precision boring
  • Accomplish compound angle layout with ease
  • Understand complex machining
  • Master compound angle boring

 

Class for AGES 18 and UP or School's Permission

Class # SPI-615

A certificate is awarded upon class completion

Prerequisites:

    SPI-600, 601, 603, 613 or with consent of the School. 
    NO materials or tools needed.

 

The class takes Forty hours in eight hour blocks of time over a five-day period.  Days and times may be altered depending on the circumstances.

 

FEES:
Tuition $945.00 + Laboratory $315.00 + Materials (solid oak) $112.00 = $1372.00 and you keep the project.
